Riyadh — Mubasher: Saudi Reinsurance Company (Saudi Re) has received a certification on 28 July 2026 confirming the completion of a Sharia compliance review of its business activities, according to a bourse disclosure.
The assessment was conducted by the Sharia Supervisory Committee appointed by Shariyah Review Bureau (SRB), acting as the company’s dedicated Sharia advisor.
The certification verifies that Saudi Re operations adhere to specific Sharia guidelines, particularly regarding the separation of shareholder accounts from policyholder accounts.
Additionally, the review confirmed that investments within both shareholder and policyholder accounts are compliant with Islamic standards.
SRB will maintain ongoing responsibility for monitoring and auditing the company’s operations to ensure continued adherence to Sharia policies and guidelines.
These audits will be performed in accordance with Sharia Governance Standard No. 2 issued by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). This oversight is designed to evaluate compliance and report any implementation discrepancies in the financial activities of Saudi Re.
It is worth noting that the listed company recently acquired a 22.50% equity in AdA Risk Holding Co Limited for GBP 8.95 million.
